Dreaming of Dior

Charlotte Smith inherited the priceless Darnell vintage couture collection from her American Quaker godmother, Doris Darnell. The collection is over 3000 pieces dating from 1790 to 1995, from Dior and Chanel originals to a dainty pioneer dress.
Dreaming of Dior: Every Dress Tells a Story (Publisher Harper Collins RRP AUD35.00), is Charlotte Smith's opportunity to share her love of the Darnell collection by recounting her own memories of her Godmother to recounting the moments of treasured life that the dresses themselves represented to their owners. The stories are accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Grant Cowan.
The Dreaming of Dior book launch in Sydney was at the Beresford hotel on Wednesday 11th November 2009.
Charlotte Smith is the curator of The Fashion Gallery at ESMOD (l'Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode) Australia in Sydney.
