Spring Court in Surry Hills


French shoe label Spring Court are legendary for their iconic styled trainers made since the 1930's. Spring Court have recently opened a Sydney store.
Spring Court came onto the scene in 1936 when Georges Grimmeison created a shoe with a cotton upper and vulcanised rubber sole, popularly used as a tennis shoe. Features like foxing and toecap in soft white rubber, removable innersoles and ventilated archsupports (introduced to the design in the 1950's) have all become the hallmarks of Spring Court's signature styling.
Famous fans of Spring Court included Serge Gainsbourg, and John Lennon was photographed in a pair of white Spring Courts on the cover of the Abbey Road album.
Spring Court are also the makers of Schmoove, boots and shoes with flamboyant styling, with a nod to retro. The Surry Hills store also offers a range of Schmoove boots and shoes.
