Division 2 is the newly refurbished menswear store at 168 Campbell Street in Surry Hills, Sydney. Division 2 has a simple idea behind their range - to balance comfort and style, with a nod to good design.

Division 2 represents men's denim with brands like London's Superfine and Red Dot, as well as Italian denim options like Gas, JFour and SealKay.

Also stocked are T-shirt designs from Altru, Red Dot and No Star. There also hoodies and t-shirts from Melbourne label Edgar, noted for their understated style.

Jewellery and Object Design - Girls for Boys

Ten female students/staff (past and present) of the Advanced Diploma course of the Jewellery and Design Department (of Design Centre Enmore Sydney Institute TAFE NSW) have created an exhibition of distinctive handmade contemporary jewellery and objects, made for, and inspired by boys.

The Exhibition will be held at Gaffa Gallery, at 1/7 Randle Street Surry Hills. It will run daily from 28th August to Tuesday the 9th of September 2008, with opening hours 6pm till 9pm. Inaugural Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival

The Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival will be held from 13th to 17th August 2008. The Rosemount Runway (A specially built state-of-the-art marquee on Martin Place) will be the central location for many of the festival's day and night events.

The festival will showcase spring summer collections of designers like Anna Thomas, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho and Nicola Finetti. Tickets go on sale from Monday 14 July at www.ticketek.com.au. Other highlights include the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Charity Gala, styling workshops and designer high teas and lunches.

Festival nightlife will include The Official Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival Bar (adjacent to the Rosemount Runway) and supported by other Sydney bars and clubs.

Made in Melbourne

Made in Melbourne 2008
On 24th July 2008, Melbourne label Artechoke will present Made in Melbourne, a not-for-profit event to promote the independent design community.

Made in Melbourne will feature designers such as Artechoke, Limedrop, Lenko, Rest in Peace, Who Am Eye, Kosi Kosi, Die Pretty and Serena van der Woodsen.

The event will also screen the works of video artists (including Lucy Farmer, Olaf Meyer and Jade Blair, Tom Gleisner and Collette Dane), accompanied by a guest DJ.

Made in Melbourne will be held at the Order of Melbourne (L2/401 Swanston Street, Melbourne 3000), doors opening at 730pm.

Tickets are available at www.madeinmelbourne.org.au. All proceeds will be donated to the Reach Foundation.

Monday 16 June 2008 was the launch of the The Ingenieur Automatic Edition Zinédine Zidane watch, designed by IWC Schaffhausen. Hosted at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, and presented by Sandrine Quétier, the event unveiled the unique design at 10pm (Zidane's shirt number).

The talented designers of Ten Extra Spaces are: Kevin Azzopardi, Jo Baker, Elisabeth Bang, Melanie Bawer, Ryan Evinton, Makiko Fukuda and Jeremy Hershan. The show was held at The Order of Melbourne, located at L2 401 Swanston Street, opposite RMIT.

graniph T-Shirt Competition vol.2


graniph Japan announced the winners of its T-shirt design award vol.2. The Gold prize went to Cho Jo Tzu of Taiwan (winning entry pictured above).

The competition invited original ideas for t-shirts to be sent in. The competition ran from February 1 to March 31 2008, and received 15,000 artworks from over 50 countries.
